Vaccination Faqs

Why does my indoor-only cat need vaccines?

Rabies is required by law for all cats. Additionally, viruses like FVRCP can enter your home on clothing, shoes, or through open windows. Vaccination protects against accidental exposure

It depends on the vaccine and your dog’s lifestyle. Core vaccines like DHPP may be needed every 1-3 years, while Bordetella and Leptospirosis are typically annual. Dr. Khabra will create a customized schedule.

Yes! Our walk-in clinic is perfect for puppies and kittens starting their vaccine series.

We don’t currently offer titer testing on-site, but Dr. Khabra follows evidence-based vaccine protocols to avoid over-vaccination while ensuring protection.

The walk-in clinic focuses on vaccinations only. A comprehensive wellness exam includes a full physical examination, health assessment, and discussion of diet, behavior, and preventive care. Both are important!

Absolutely! The walk-in clinic is great for multi-pet households.

Yes! We provide documentation of all vaccines administered for boarding facilities, groomers, or travel requirements.

Full immunity typically develops 1-2 weeks after the final booster in a series. Puppies and kittens are vulnerable until their series is complete.

Vaccines stimulate an immune response, which can cause mild, temporary symptoms like lethargy. Your pet is not actually sick — their immune system is learning to fight disease.

Yes, we recommend testing kittens for FeLV before starting the vaccine series, especially if they’ve had outdoor exposure or unknown history. We can do this test in-house with same-day results.

Yes, puppies commonly have intestinal parasites. While we don’t do fecal exams in-house, we can send samples to our reference lab for comprehensive parasite screening and provide deworming treatment.
