What to Expect at Your Visit
New Patients
Please arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork. Bring any medical records from your pet’s previous veterinarian if available.
Vaccinations & Walk-In Clinic
Our convenient walk-in vaccine clinic is available for dogs and cats without an appointment. For other vaccination needs, please schedule ahead.
Wellness Exams
Most routine wellness visits take 20–30 minutes. Dr. Khabra performs a comprehensive head-to-tail examination and discusses your pet’s health.
Surgery Consultations
We’ll discuss the procedure, pre-surgical bloodwork recommendations, anesthesia monitoring, and answer all your questions. Del Paso performs many surgeries in-house, including orthopedic procedures.
Urgent Care
If your pet is sick or injured, let us know when booking — we’ll prioritize getting them seen the same day.
Diagnostic Testing
Our in-house laboratory provides same-day results for bloodwork, urinalysis, and other diagnostics. We also have digital X-ray and ultrasound available on-site.

For Wellness Exams
- Bring any current medications your pet is taking
- List any behavioral changes or health concerns
- Bring a recent stool sample if your pet is due for fecal testing
- Note any dietary changes or questions about nutrition
For Surgery
- Follow pre-surgical fasting instructions provided by our team
- Pre-surgical bloodwork may be recommended
- Bring comfortable bedding for same-day discharge

Walk-ins are welcome for our vaccine clinic. For wellness exams, surgery consultations, and other services, we recommend scheduling an appointment to minimize wait times. Same-day appointments are often available for urgent care.
How far in advance should I book?
For routine wellness exams, we recommend scheduling 1-2 weeks in advance. For urgent concerns, call us the same day and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Please call us at (916) 925-2107 as soon as possible if you need to change your appointment. This allows us to offer that time to another pet in need.
Do you see pets on weekends?
Yes! We’re open Saturday mornings for your convenience. Call (916) 925-2107 to check current availability.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, credit cards, debit cards, checks, CareCredit, and ScratchPay. Cherry financing will be available soon. We also provide documentation for pet insurance reimbursement.
How long will my appointment take?
Wellness exams typically take 20-30 minutes. Surgery consultations may take longer. Urgent care visits depend on your pet’s condition. We’ll keep you informed throughout the visit.
